About Ulrica

Ulrica Wihlborg Forrest (E-RYT 500) is the lead instructor for Pure Yoga Sweden’s 200-hour Teacher Training Program and the founder of Pure Yoga Sweden, featured as "The Prettiest Yoga Studio in the World" by interior design magazine Domino. She began her yoga journey in 1998 with Ashtanga teacher Mark Blanchard in Los Angeles and practiced exclusively with Mark for years.

She did her first 200h yoga teacher training with Mark, before becoming a devoted student at the original YogaWorks in Santa Monica. After a second 200h teacher training at YogaWorks, she continued to study (300h) with Bhakti yoga teacher Janet Stone in San Francisco. She is currently immersed in Kundalini Yoga training with Kia Miller.

Before yoga became a full-time devotion, she spent almost two decades as a magazine editor at Time Inc./Time Warner in Los Angeles, at the time the largest media corporation in the world. She no longer watches the news, but instead curiously explores what it means to be human.

She’s a lover of Bhakti Yoga, and has studied music and mantra with Girish and Nat Kendall. These past three years, she's worked closely with Jeff Shub on Emotional Body Training, with Andrew Genovese on Dimensional Breathwork, and Ashley V. Frost on N.E.O. Emotional Release. She’s a featured teacher at Yoga Games in Stockholm and Gothenburg, and continually holds online courses, live workshops, soundbaths and trainings from her studio in Sweden.

Her free-flowing yet aligned Vinyasa Flow classes are joyful experiences, where her intention is for you to feel embraced by the unconditional love that is our true nature. As a mother of three children and a householder yogi, she sees her devotion to the Eight-Limbed Path as a way to raise our collective consciousness and find our own guru within.

About the Studio

Pure Yoga Sweden is a yoga studio located in the small coastal town of Karlshamn in southern Sweden. The studio is situated in a 100-year-old historically protected building and features a majestic yoga room with 8 meter high ceilings (26 feet), enormous rounded metal windows with hand-blown glass and original wood floors.

The studio has been lovingly and meticulously restored with historical craftsman traditions, using genuine natural materials throughout. The walls are painted with organic biodegradable wall paint, the original floors are sanded and treated with natural linseed oil, and all the shelves and other wood design details are treated with organic linseed wax.

The beautiful interiors are a reflection of harmony and nature, with thick linen fabrics, a large variety of rustic terracotta pots filled with green plants, metal lanterns with candles and a collection of vintage furniture and decor from Swedish design companies.

You’ll practice yoga on organic mats, use blocks made of natural cork and rest on bolsters made with organic cotton and buckwheat. Everything is a manifestation of the love we feel for you who enter our doors, and for our planet that is our home. This place is truly special, a place of light, joy and transformation.

In the afternoon, the sun streams through the large metal windows and lights up the room with a golden light. When it rains, the raindrops hit the green metal roof creating an orchestra of natural sound. And in the summer, when we open the large double doors to the nature outside, you’ll hear the birds sing from the large oak trees and feel the warm summer breeze travel through the room.

Our studio is located in the small, picturesque coastal town of Karlshamn (Blekinge) in southern Sweden.

We’re right on the ocean and surrounded by pristine nature, a local certified organic farm, cobblestone streets and a daily flower and farmer’s market in the town square.

The studio consists of eight accomplished yoga instructors, one musician and a large tribe of dedicated yoga practitioners.

We would be excited for you to experience our beautiful home!
